Why should you take Game Desgin?
Game Design I is a year long course that introduces students to game creation and design. Student need to have taken either Computer Programming, Animation, or Graphic Design and Illustration to get into Game Design I.
The course starts off by teaching students how to create 2d games in Game Maker Pro. Students will create all types of games from classics like pacman and space invaders to advanced platform games like Super Mario Brothers. At the end of the course, students will work on their own game project utilizing their knowledge of Game Maker and good game design methodologies. The course ends with an introduction to 3d gaming.
The student will have a soid foundation if they decide to take Game Desgin II.

Course Catalog Description
Are you interested in being a part of a fast growing, up and coming, ever changing, technology career field? Do you like being creative? Do you think differently than most? Video game design may be for you! In this course, students will learn how to create video games for the PC. Students will work in teams to conceive, design, and create a video game from scratch while learning about storyboarding, game play, animation, scripting, level editing, and gaming engines.
